Thank you for your interest in the Maydelle Centennial Iron Horse Celebration! Come join us as we celebrate 100 Years in Maydelle, Texas. We invite you to a fun filled day with musical entertainment, the arrival of one of the Texas State Railroad steam engines at the Maydelle depot and turntable, a queen contest, live band, karaoke contest, horse rides for children, covered wagon rides, food concessions, displays of 100 years of historical happenings, arts and crafts vendors, and a street dance!
Location:
Maydelle, Texas is located; between Palestine and Rusk, South of Tyler and Jacksonville, Texas, on State Hwy 84 and FM 2138.
The festival will benefit the Maydelle Volunteer Fire Department to raise funds to satisfy the required amount of their part of grants recently received for two trucks as well as an "extended" goal to purchase land and to build a new Fire Dept. that will adequately house their trucks and equipment.
The day will be further enhanced with the cooperation and participation of the Texas State Railroad and an enactment out of the Wild West, when the early 1900’s steam engine and passenger train pull into town.
There will be drawings for prizes throughout the day!
Thank you, and we look forward to working with you.
